The Imaginarium is a private non-profit organization with a mission to stimulate interest in and understanding of science and technology through hands-on exhibits and programs. The Imaginarium and the PWS Science Center share interests in developing curricula focused on local Alaska environments and delivering these products to remote communities. This project is for the development of an education program and materials focused on Alaska marine coastal environments. These materials include detailed curricula centered on the chosen theme with general information about birds and mammals, the intertidal zone, commercial fisheries, ocean circulation and its effects on nearshore zones. The Imaginarium will assemble supplies and provide instructor training in use of the traveling kit. The PWS Science Center will provide access to science staff, pilot testing of the kit and feedback from its use.
