Project Summary

This first objective of this project is to identify the critical deficiencies in the current state of knowledge concerning all aspects of oil spill response in ice-covered waters. The starting point will be a review of all papers presented at the Oil and Ice workshop held in April 2000 in Anchorage, Alaska. Priorities will then be assigned to specific research and development efforts that could be taken to address these deficiencies. The overall intent will be to produce a document that can be used to improve the future research and development efforts in the areas of arctic oil spill prevention and response.
