Advisory Board
The Advisory Board meets twice each year to set strategic directions,
review and approve annual program plans, establish committees as
needed, appoint and define the duties of staff, and conduct other
business needed to carry out OSRI's Congressional mandate. Generally,
the Board meets in Cordova in September, to coordinate operations
with the administrative arm, the PWS Science Center's Board of Directors.
The second annual meeting is usually scheduled in the late winter
(February or March) in Anchorage.
Executive
Committee
This committee - composed of the Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer
and two additional members of the Advisory Board - meets on an as
needed basis to assist and supervise implementation of the OSRI
work plan between regular meetings of the Board. The committee is
also responsible to assist in developing partnerships with private
industries and other public entities.
Science
& Technical Committee
The STC includes specialists in oil spill containment and cleanup
technology, Arctic and subArctic marine ecology and the living resources
and socio-economics of Prince William Sound and its adjacent waters.
The STC meets twice each year to provide advice to the Board through
the OSRI Director. Further details on the STC's role and operations
are found in the STC Charter.
Finance
Committee
The Advisory Board annually appoints 3-4 members to this committee
chaired by the OSRI Treasurer. The committee meets irregularly to
review financial reports and provide recommendations to the Board.
Work
Plan Committee
The Advisory Board annually appoints 4-5 members to this committee
at the winter meeting. The committee meets in the late spring and
summer to review and make recommendations for the upcoming year's
work plan.
