Katrina Hoffman
Executive Director

K HoffmanKatrina Hoffman earned a Master’s degree in Marine Policy at the University of Washington and most recently worked for Washington Sea Grant on Puget Sound and West Coast shoreline management issues.  She is an experienced marine science educator and has conducted research at the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute, Shannon Point Marine Center and the University of California at Berkeley.  Prior to moving to Alaska, Katrina served as Chairperson of the Sustainable Coastal Communities Action Coordination Team for the West Coast Governors’ Alliance on Ocean Health and the coordinator of an international low impact shoreline development initiative.

 

Scott Pegau
Research Program Manager

Scott Pegau is OSRI Research Program Manager. As OSRI Research Program Manager, Scott oversees the OSRI grant program focused on oil pollution issues in the Arctic and sub-Arctic. He ensures peer reviews of proposals, monitors grant contracts, and provides leadership in planning research programs and work plans in collaboration with the OSRI Board and Scientific and Technical Committee.

Scott grew up in Alaska and graduated from high school in Nome. He did his undergraduate work at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. He received his Doctoral degree in Oceanography from Oregon State University.

 

Penelope (Penny) Oswalt
Finance Director

penny2As Finance Director for the Prince William Sound Science Center, Penny is responsible for all financial related activities. She prepares budgets and financial reports for the President and Board of Directors, administers grants and contracts and coordinates annual audits of the Center’s finances which are completed by nationally recognized accounting firms. Penny earned an Associate of Arts degree at Prince William Sound Community College. Penny joined the Center’s staff on its first day in 1989. She previously worked for the Cordova Times as their press person, in advertising/graphics.

 

Ginger Drake
Bookkeeper

penny2As the bookkeeper at the Science Center, Ginger is primarily responsible for accounts payable/receivable and payroll. She has been living in Cordova for the past four years, most recently working as the manager of Nichols’ Backdoor Store. She also works as bookkeeper for the Cordova Moose Lodge.
